The Beatles performed their first official gig, August 18, 1962, featuring new drummer, Ringo Starr.Starr, who was previously playing with another Liverpool group, Rory Storm And The Hurricanes, had filled in previously for The Beatles drummer, Pete Best, while in Hamburg, Germany.John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, decided that Starr was the better drummer, as well as having the same kindred spirit, and he was in.
