Notorious B.I.G. #8, Brooklyn, NY, 1997
ABOUT THIS PIECE
“In this moment in time, Biggie picked me up from my house in a huge limousine. He was no longer the bumbling kid I met three years back, when I shot him smoking a blunt on his rooftop. His four time platinum album had made him the central figure of East Coast Hip Hop. We drove back to his hood in Bed-Stuy to shoot him casually on his block. He had no recollection of the pictures we did back in the day. A couple of weeks later, he was shot dead in the streets of LA. This collection of images might well be one of the last sets of Biggie before his sudden death. I couldn’t believe it. My Black and White images made the cover of a few magazine announcements including The Village Voice and a double spread page in The Source. ” - Geoffroy de Boismenu
