Collection: Geoffroy de Boismenu

Geoffroy de Boismenu is a Celebrity and Award winning photographer who started working for music labels and magazines in New York in the early 90s, shooting artists and actors whose popularity began to rise. During this time, he documented numerous hip-hop culture pioneers such as Notorious B.I.G., Gravediggaz, Outkast, The Fugees, Mary J. Blige, Smif-n-Wessun, Mark Wahlberg, Kris Kross and Public Enemy, as well as punk rock celebrities including Iggy Pop and Johnny Rotten. These heavy hitters in the music scene created an archival and iconic photographic portfolio for Geoffroy.

His regular editorial commissions included publications in Rolling Stone, The Source, Vibe, Harpers' Bazaar, Allure, RayGun, Details, I-D, Dazed and Spin magazine for which Geoffroy shot Biggie before his first debut album was released. His series of B&W photographs of Biggie smoking a blunt became emblematic of an era. These iconic images have recently been highlighted in acclaimed Netflix's documentary: “Biggie: I got a Story to Tell”.

In 1994-1995, Geoffroy was the most awarded photographer of the year who was celebrated in the prestigious American Photography # 12. Geoffroy continuously exhibits in galleries and has since published numerous books. He resides and works in Paris, France.
