Guns N’ Roses, CBGB, NYC, 1987
ABOUT THIS PIECE
“Guns N’ Roses came to NYC for a week to do a couple of shows. I reached out to their publicist and set up a shoot at my studio in New York. After the shoot, Slash asked if I wanted to come to CBGB’s later that week to take some photos. When I got there they were all in good spirits; Slash graciously sharing his Jack Daniels with me. After they did an acoustic set and an autograph signing we did some photos in front of the legendary CBGB awning.” — Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss
“Life was really exciting at that time. I’d never been to New York before, so those were fun times. It was new, it was fresh, and it’s so cool that we’re able to have photographs of those moments. And Mark was very cool. He had an edge about him. And if he didn’t have that edge, trust me—I’m a happy-go-lucky guy, but the other guys, especially Axl and Slash, if you’re not cool, they’re gonna beat you down and you’re not gonna be able to hang. And they were not able to beat Mark down. He was able to hang.” — Steven Adler, Guns N' Roses
