ABOUT THIS PIECE
On Valentine Day 1994 Alan Jackson and George Jones recorded “Good Year For The Roses” during the Bradley Barn Sessions. Before recording it in duet together the rising star, Jackson and the legend Jones practiced the song. In addition to the rock icons and country legends who Producer Brian Ahern called on to sing Jones’ career hits with him for the album named for the famous studio, Ahern also signed on several up and coming country stars of the early 1990s, Alan Jackson being one of them. Jackson became recognized as one of the “Hat Acts” of the time for the wide brimmed cowboy hat that personified him. This photo provides a rare view of him without his hat.
